After hearing about Jesus&#8217; miracles and growing influence, Herod&#8217;s guilty conscience troubled him. He feared that John had come back from the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proverbs 28:1-<\/strong>&#8221; The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herod&#8217;s fear shows how guilt can affect a person&#8217;s thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Lesson<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><strong>for ShiftLife<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herod&#8217;s mistake reminds us that it is not enough to know <em>about<\/em> Jesus. We must know <strong>who He truly is<\/strong>. Many people had opinions about Jesus, but only those who recognized Him as the Messiah and Son of God understood His true identity and mission. As Jesus later asked His disciples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;But what about you?
